University AffiliationIn 2004, formal links between our organisation and the Australian Catholic University were established. Our growing reputation for quality and care has been further developed with the RSL now becoming a University Affiliated Teaching Centre for Senior Living. We have established a University Chair on site at our Villages to facilitate research and education into ageing. We have appointed a qualified person to the position of Professor of Ageing. The Professor is working with the team to further develop our skill base in education and provide services to staff. The Professor is also undertaking research projects – with particular reference to dementing and challenging behaviours. We are the only senior living organisation in New South Wales that has this very high level of university affiliation and commitment to research better ways to care for our senior Australians.
