Residential Care Services – Now it’s our turn to look after You

Step into an RSL LifeCare residential care service and you can’t help but feel at home. We seek to make your experience warm and inviting, from our homelike design, to our comfortable community areas and private bedrooms, to our exceptional outdoor gardens and landscaped grounds. Look around and you’ll notice points of interest throughout the residence, and you may even spot one of our pets. And of course, there are always the friendly smiling faces of our staff to ensure that each day spent here is a welcome one. RSL LifeCare has been caring for and serving seniors since 1911. We take great pride in being a leader in the providing of residential care services. Founders William Wood and Stephen Stack started with a simple vision — to look after and give the best to war veterans who needed assistance. Today, our residential care services are open to all Australians and we are one of the most experienced and innovative providers of senior living services in the world.

Life is what you make it. At RSL LifeCare, we believe no two people are alike and we understand that the services each senior requires are never exactly the same. We call this our resident-centered approach to living. It begins with the resident and his or her needs. It results in choices—choices about day-to-day living, service and care options. In this way, we help maintain independence and dignity and provide the best possible lifestyle and service options. Our approach has made RSL LifeCare one of the largest and most comprehensive senior living providers in the country.

The recognition of RSL LifeCare as an Aged Care Leader has included:

  • Aged Care Standards & Accreditation Agency Commendable Accreditation Award – just seven of the 3,000 aged care services in Australia have reached this pinnacle of success
  • Five Better Practice Awards received from the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency
  • Minister for Ageing Award – Winner of the Staff Education and Development Award
  • Aged Care Association of Australia – Winner of the Leadership and Management Award
  • Prime Minister’s Employer of the Year Award, Disability – NSW Finalist
  • Aged Care Association of Australia Building Renovation – Finalist for the creation of innovative partnership rooms
All our services are linked in with detailed quality systems and have the backing of our university affiliation to ensure the highest care services possible.

Yes, most of our homes have partnership rooms for couples.

What are the homes like?

All our homes are different in size, décor and space, but all offer a friendly home-like environment where people can be as involved in activities as they like, or maintain their own privacy. There are lounge and dining rooms for residents and their friends. Staff are available 24/7 to assist in care and activities of daily living. In addition, there is a comprehensive recreation and exercise program available. Each resident has their own bedroom with ensuite bathroom (some bedrooms at Ex-Services Home Ballina and Bayside @ Byron are share rooms).

What about food, cleaning and laundry?

We seek to make our food as homelike as possible whilst catering to varied tastes and preferences. There is a variety of cereals, fruit and toast available at breakfast – hot breakfasts too.
